I didn’t expect it to be such an amazing summer

"In my opinion, every college student should participate in the Work and Travel USA program at least once. It's a great opportunity for everyone, whether you like travel, adventure, meeting new people, or even if you're an introvert. The Work and Travel USA program will change everyone's life (in a positive way, of course). It will teach you independence and you will experience unforgettable moments."

Which experience was the best for you?

I cannot answer this question clearly. During the whole summer there were an incredible number of those experiences. If I have to say one, it will be a cruise on a giant cruise ship around the Caribbean Islands. Swimming with rays, driving around the island of Roatan on an ATV, and the cruise ship itself, where we could really do anything.

Is there anything that surprised you?

I didn’t expect it to be such an amazing summer. The program changed my outlook on life, among other things.

Would you do anything differently if you had to repeat the program?

I would travel earlier, if possible, in May, so that I could be in the U.S. as long as possible. And I wouldn’t be so worried.

Would you prepare something else for the trip?

My summer in the U.S. was perfect, I don’t know if there is anything I would like to change.

Any travel tips or practical advice?

You don’t need to take a lot of clothes. No one misses shopping in the USA. I recommend taking at least a small pan so you don’t have to buy it there. Our kitchen had mostly basic equipment, but there was no Teflon pan. As for travel tips, it depends on how many days/weeks you have available to travel. If it is a shorter period (approx. 10 days), I recommend a cruise on the Caribbean. If more than two weeks – definitely the West Coast!
